So often when the New Year rolls around I see people including on their list of New Year’s Resolutions/Goals that they want to try something new. This year I was tempted to make that one of my goals in relation to trying a new craft, but then I started thinking about how many crafts I already do or know how to do but have since put aside. It really hit me even more so as people began posting their first makes – whether a complete project or just a square of basic crochet stitches. And that’s when I began to think about my own first makes.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I know I always have a lot of projects being worked on, hidden away, and in the planning and/or designing stages at any given time. Which usually means some things fall by the wayside. Maybe it’s spending time with family or friends, or maybe I sleep less one night. But, sometimes, the need to focus on just one thing pushes through and everything else, aside from necessities like work, food, sleep, and the occasional get-together with friends. This is the boat I have been in for the past few weeks.

I don’t know about you, but I hate when my drinks are too hot or cold to properly hold and I don’t like the idea of always needing to use a cardboard sleeve or wrap my cup in a wad of napkins to protect my hands. I also like to show my interests in a way that doesn’t require me to dress a certain way or poke holes in my shirt so I can wear a pin. To solve these problems, I have designed a quick and easy pattern to make your own cup cozy with plenty of room to add a little decoration to show off your favorite fandom or a cause that is close to your heart!

This blog is where I will be sharing my crochet journey and the yarn adventures I have, so what better topic to have as the focus of my first post after my welcome be than how I got here?

My crochet journey does not officially begin until March of 2015. However, looking back there were moments before then that hinted crocheting would become a part of my life.
